I have a 1991 Kawasaki Vulcan that cuts out when putting in 1st.?

My 1991 Kawasaki Vulcan is having some issues. When I am trying to take off in 1st the bike tends to cut off, even when I give a lot of throttle. I get it after some time but it is really bad. It only does this at the initial take off and not at any other point in the drive. What could that be. I have all ready put carb cleaned in my fuel tank and it still does this. Please...
